You arrive in semi-darkness, sit down and wait. Suddenly and silently, the lights go on, illuminating a white canvas where things start to happen.
At Mugaritz, there is a lot of theatricality. The props, staging and choreography are executed with the exacting precision of a professional performance.
With a view to merging disciplines, Mugaritz has been hosting workshops since 2008, where different actors and choreographers, such as Aiert Beobide, share their expertise with the dining room staff. This idea later became popular with other restaurants and cookery schools.
