In the summer of 2007 Mugaritz made its debut in Berria, a daily newspaper published entirely in Basque. In writing articles for Berria’s kids’ section, Mantangorri (‘ladybird’ in Basque), we’ve had the chance to highlight the importance of local producers and locally-grown food.

This marked the beginning of a decade-long project that has allowed Mugaritz to plant the seed of healthy eating and environmental awareness in our future adults, creating different types of educational materials in Basque and building stories around characters like Armix and Izaro.
