Guillermo Cruz is the best sommelier of Spain

Member of Mugaritz sommelier team, Cruz is the winner of the National Sommelier Competition of Spain 2014
The sommelier of Mugaritz, Guillermo Cruz, is proclaimed the winner of the official contest “Best sommelier of Spain 2014” celebrated in Santiago de Compostela. Between the 41 professionals contenders to the title, the sommelier from Zaragoza, that actually works in Mugaritz, prevail over Josep Pelegrín (“Petit Celler”, Manresa) and Roberto Durán (“Caballito de mar”, Mallorca).
The jury is formed by the technical committee of the Spanish Sommelier Association Union (UAES) and 7 no-professional members, such as Iñigo Silva (Royal Spanish Preserved Food), Silvia Grimaldo (Cava Regulatory Council) and Víctor Parra (Affligem and Heineken).
